Identification

Confidence: high

Dr. Gerry Allen explained that the typical adult P. bankanensis has a white peduncle and translucent caudal, with a large ocellated spot in the soft dorsal. But the peduncle/tail color and ocellated spot form is variable and the former can be yellow and the spot can be small, making it look like a dark P. amboinensis.
